
Emma Bowick
PhD student
Emma is currently pursuing an PhD in the Department of Geography at the University of Victoria (UVic), focusing on global food systems, sustainable supply chains, and multi-scalar environmental governance policy. She holds a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) degree with a double major in Geography and Political Science from UVic, completed in 2023. Since 2017, Emma has been residing and studying on the traditional territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən and WSÁNEĆ peoples, acknowledging her settler descent. Throughout her academic journey, Emma has gained valuable experience as a research assistant in various roles, at the Universidade Estadual Paulista (UNESP) in Franca, Brazil, the Regional Parks Department (CRD) in Greater Victoria, BC, and two interdisciplinary research clusters at the University of Victoria.
